{ wedding belles } rock my wedding stationery…

I’ve got that Friday feeling! The sun is shining in London, and the lovely Rebecca from Rock My Wedding has given Coquette Paper & Press a most lovely shout out. What more does a girl need?
Starting out on your own can be an extremely daunting prospect, whatever your industry, so it’s always nice to find a port or two in the storm, people who understand what you’re trying to do and cheer you on. It also helps you to realise that you weren’t smoking crack when you had that cockamamie idea to do whatever it is you’re doing!
While you’re over there checking out their kind words (which of course you will be, you guys are nothing if not supportive *hint* *hint*) you might want to check out some of their other beautiful posts…
A beautiful vintage inspired wedding with the bride rocking some pretty amazing hair.
Speaking of hair, this post is chock full of wedding hair inspiration that had me itching to try out some new styles for the party season.

A bride & groom who served afternoon tea (followed by a late night hog roast) instead of the usual wedding fare, absolute genius.
And it’s not all weddings, there’s plenty to inspire the magpie in all of us.
Snow white hydrangea pompoms? I think I’ve died and gone to heaven!
And let’s not forget, some pretty A-mazing dresses.

{ home comforts } tea for one hundred and two…

While browsing the blog of my new partner in crime (OK, we haven’t met yet, but I have a feeling that after our afternoon tea session on Thursday we will be thick as thieves) I came across this genius website…
The Vintage Table is the kind of website/service that melts my vintage obsessed heart. Of course I’ll never much be in need of their services, being in possession as I am of more vintage crockery than a single thirty something girl really needs (it’s on every shelf, even balanced on top of books on the bookcase). But should a certain big day ever loom on my horizon, I’ll be calling them up with glee!

{ wedding belles } vintage perfection…

I am absolutely, head-over-heels, struggling-to-breathe in love with this vintage wedding dress…
In the bride’s words …

“The dress is an original Edwardian lace panel dress and I had a slip and matching sash tailor made by Beau Monde in London. It’s over 100 years old and I felt very elegant and privileged to have worn it. I found the dress in the Vintage Wedding Dress Shop.”

{ wedding belles } my wedzu debut…

Last week I was very excited to be accepted as a vendor by the newly launched Wedzu.
Wedzu is “all about weddings. Especially indie, handmade, awesome weddings.” and their vendors are hand picked by the site’s founders and curators Anne & Brett, so I was chuffed to bits that they deemed Coquette Paper & Press to be worthy of a spot in their beautiful market. Once I’d thrown myself into setting up my own little Wedzu store, I set about exploring the rest of the site, and stumbled across some real gems…

{ wedding belles } here comes the bride…

My beautiful friend Sarah married her Prince Charming a couple of weeks ago.
She walked down the aisle barefoot, much to the annoyance of the slightly crazy lady vicar.
My kind of girl. Sarah that is, not the vicar.

{ wedding belles } something old, something new…

…something borrowed, something blue…
Some of the most unusual and beautiful wedding shoes I have ever seen. They look like they’re covered in drops of morning dew. Stunning.
The rest of the wedding wasn’t too shabby either.

{ notes on style } the bride wore blue…

The most compelling argument I’ve seen for not wearing white on your wedding day…

Stunning!

{ uh oh } modest mouse…

I’ve been sent to the naughty step.

When I saw my lovely cousin on Wednesday, she told me off for not making it brilliantly clear, when I posted pictures of her wedding, that I had done her hair and make-up. (Along with her 5 bridesmaids!)

So, dear friends, it was I who made her look like a movie star. Not that it took much work, the girl was glowing like Clare Danes in Stardust!! And it was I who turned her 5 beautiful bridesmaids into 5 best supporting actresses.

We had such fun, each girl with a different style, one Carrie Bradshaw, one Elizabeth Bennett, one Audrey Hepburn, one Grace Kelly and one Kate Winslet.

Oscar worthy, every last one of them…

{ wedding belles } Kitty & Ed…

You may have noticed a distinct lack of posts here, and I have only one, rather wonderful excuse, and that is my cousin’s wedding. As unofficial wedding planner, I have been rather busy with table plans, menus, make up & hair. It’s been a crazy few weeks, but now that it’s over, I am missing all the fun we had making plans and swapping family dramas over sushi lunches and boozy dinners.

The wedding was truly wonderful, a very special day indeed, and I can’t wait to see the pictures in full.

Until then, it’s back to the old routine. So watch this space!
